Art and Ashley's wedding at the Colony Club in Detroit was a day full of attention to details. It was a gorgeous sunny day so we started off by finding a secluded space on Belle Isle for them to have their first look. I can tell you they were glad they did it. They got to see each other and spend a little bit of time alone before being swept up in the rest of the days activities. We were able to get the bridal party portraits done on Belle Isle and received lots of cheers and congratulations from people passing by. I mean, who doesn't love to see a gorgeous bride and groom smiling on their wedding day.
The ceremony was filled with lots love and joy. They had friends and family involved in all areas of the ceremony from the officiant to the readers with special words of advice for the couple. Afterward the guests were able to enjoy a cocktail hour downstairs while the amazing Colony Club was being transformed for the evening. Everything looked stunning from the amazing tree branches that held crystals to the larger then life flower arrangements that were done by Designs by Guzzardo's. As the bridal party made their entrance down into the ball room the bride and groom were able to stand on the balcony and welcome all their friends and family. As the evening went on Ashley became a part of an important tradition in her family. Her father and his fraternity brothers sang a special song that they had sang to all their wives and daughters on their wedding days. It was a very touching moment. Guests were able to enjoy dancing to the live band, Cancel Monday.
As the night wore on the bride and groom made a special exit under a beautiful array of sparklers. It definitely had a fairy-tale feel.
